This should take you close enough to the Dec 3, 1950 game. There was enough room on the last page of that chapter to add a few more facts. The Browns only had 1 first down. They gained just 69 yards. They were penalized 9 times.

@davidneiwert.bsky.social In your article today you wrote Cook instead of Good.

Noem defended the murder of Cook by labeling her a “domestic terrorist.” I am probably not the first to point this out

@jayrosen.bsky.social What do think of what Jacobs had to say. You should watch the first 20 of minutes of useful idiots with Katie Halper and Aaron Mate. They went over Kristi Noem's interview with Jake Tapper. He did an ok job but every word out of her mouth is a lie

@hcrichardson.bsky.social No doubt there were plenty of fascists in the American army during World War 2. Certainly a lot of racists considering the services were segregated.

@craigcalcaterra.bsky.social I saw that Noem was doubling down. What a wretched person

@joeposnanski.com I am reading Why we Love Football. I just read about Ernie Nevers. I remember him. However Paul Hornung getting the Heisman was ridiculous. You didn't mention it but he was the only Heisman winner from a losing team. I was looking at the top ten choices.

@jeffpearlman.bsky.social Good interview with Eric Kramer. There was a story on ESPN after his son died. 4 teenagers where charged in his death. One of them was sentence to probation. From what read none of them tried to do anything to revive him. His ex wife got off pretty easy.

@parkermolloy.com I couldn't comment on your post about the Bears. I am a fan but I cant see them going far in the playoffs

@davidpsamson.bsky.social Major sports leagues leaped into bed with gambling industry. Now comes the cost.
The integrity of games might be sports’ most precious commodity. This year’s gambling scandals have fans questioning it — a trend some view as an existential threat. archive.ph/rA7Gv

@joycewhitevance.bsky.social Great article about Roberts. Like any politician he won't tell the truth. By the way are you going to write about Jack Smith's appearance.
January 3, 2026 at 1:13 AM
@joycewhitevance.bsky.social Tracey isn't saying that Epstein isn't guilty of anything. And since he is dead and not trial legally speaking he can not be declared guilty. Ithttps://www.mtracey.net/p/epstein-disaster-civil-liberties does seem a lot of women are trying to take advantage.

@stevevladeck.bsky.social I assume you read the transcript from the Smith hearing. I know the explanation for redacting the names of those questioning Smith. I don't agree with it. If it had been an open hearing we would know who was who.
January 1, 2026 at 11:06 PM
@parkermolloy.com I was looking at the transcript of the hearing. The names of those questioning Smith were redacted. In googling the question the reason was to keep them from being harassed. Maybe that is why the wanted a closed session. How brave. Doesn't the public deserve to know that.
January 1, 2026 at 10:47 PM
@parkermolloy.com Too bad they dropped the transcript when no one was paying attention. I am guessing it was taped. They should release it. I did read some of the questions that were posed to Smith.

@markjacob.bsky.soci. al It doesn't look like you are on facebook. There was an interesting piece by a former reporter by the name of Eric Gubelman. It had to do with 60 minutes and a free press. I am not sure if you will be able to see this

@jefftiedrich.bsky.social too bad most of this is behind a paywall. I don't know that any one is claiming he is innocent. But it at least you should read the transcript that is linked here. www.racket.news/p/five-crazi... As you can see this is just the first article.

@thomaszimmer.bsky.social I read your essay this morning and I think it was great. You used the word framers wrhen talking about the 14th amendment. Apparently it is appropriate to use that word. I am not sure if there is a better word.

@mollyknight.bsky.social I read you free substack today. As Branch Ricky said always trade a player one year early instead of one year later. Stearns did a great job in Milwaukee. I am guessing he has a plan

@craigcalcaterra.bsky.social I did see My Girl Why the eww about Akroyd being the love interest. As to Nuzzi, Tim Miller interviewed for an hour on the Bulwark podcast. She pretty much knew how bad Kennedy was. She said she was to scare to speak out. What courage
December 5, 2025 at 9:55 PM
@ruthbenghiat.bsky.social granted it is AI and maybe it is a translation thing. No, Pope Pius XI did not declare "Il Duce" (Mussolini) was put in their path by providence. However, he did refer to Mussolini as "the man sent by providence" after signing the Lateran Treaty in 1929,
