It doesn’t matter if people “truly” believe anything or not. Playing make-believe, publicly participating in a bit like an improv sketch, is just as good as any “sincerely held” belief for all purposes of the function of collective belief in society (though this also shapes people’s private beliefs)

The problem is I can’t tell if this is a punishment or something RFK would decree

Adding all that extra weight from bloating the car on an already underpowered stock engine is certainly a choice!

The US might have a chance now. How fast can we teach lineman to play hockey? Let’s make Zdeno Chara look small

“Can we put in housing so people don’t have to commute for hours?”

“No, it would change community character”

Complete commodification of truth and facts, I guess

You know what's interesting though, stories about GLP-1's really don't focus in on the fact that it's an injection.

Yes, I know it's an auto injector but it's still a shot.

Showing me a needle shot on a story about a measles outbreak gets me to associate vaccination with disease... which is wrong.

I moved to Denver from SLC (my spouse got an awesome job) and this place is midwestern in its culture.

It’s even midwestern because we have to drive 2 hours to get anywhere lol, feels like visiting family back home.

The riverside biking is amazing the best of any midwestern city.

I think this has always been a feature of unrestrained capitalism? Scumbags used to put lead in milk to sweeten it, the governor of California built himself a rail monopoly in the 1800s (the octopus and the jungle are good novels capturing the vibes)

I think this is just human greed and domineering

I’ll check it out. I’ve seen so many systems (indie or otherwise) come and go in the last 17ish years that I can’t keep track of them all lol.

I still haven’t met anyone who liked 4e, but I’m really glad people out there are giving it the flowers that they think it deserves!

I have never heard of any of these beyond pathfinder but I’m open to admitting I don’t know every niche in the ttrpg space.

But influence is one thing, 4e just sucked as a play experience in my playgroup’s experience even though I’ll allow that it had some good ideas.

I regularly play 3.5, 5e, fallout 2d20 and have played pathfinder 1 & 2, Star Wars, coyote & crow, and exodus.

I’ve gotten over 70 people into d&d over the last 18 years that I’ve played, and mentored/taught 9 new DMs.

So I’m a bit plugged in to the ttrpg space.

Wait WHAT?? I still play 5e and 3.5 but I’ve literally never met a person who plays 4e.
December 1, 2025 at 2:30 AM
It’s like 75% a joke because I know everyone probably says this about the first new edition after they started playing, but 4e was what caused me to start playing other ttrpgs like Star Wars, Expdus and more recently Coyote & Crow + Fallout 2d20.
