@comicstitan.bsky.social Not sure if you still have the license, but it'd be awesome to see a series of Alien Legion omnis.

Folks, I think it's time to slow down a bit on socials for me. Between a few large projects and just needing time, I think I'll be visiting a bit less in 2026. Not taking off entirely, just giving myself more breathing room.

Looks like I may have to fight some crime in 2026.

Today has me reminiscing about gaming in the '80s with a handful of friends I had in high school (many of which are still friends today).

There was something amazing about gaming in the '80s, and I think much of it had to do with my core gaming group. There was usually 5-8 of us that gathered...

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

So I've been converting several of my characters from one game to another for inevitable publishing. Over the last few months I believe I've converted over maybe a quarter of the characters (I have well over 200 to work on), and just finished an unexpectedly complex one. Time for a victory lap. ;)

Is it just me, or do superhero teams seem a bit inflated these days? I get the JLU to an extent* and I can understand the size of the LSH**. However, looking at the promo for X-Men United, there's just seems to be too many characters involved. Am I the only one thinking this? How many is too many?

We've been watching the "28 Days" movies today and it got me wondering about zombie-themed TTRPG sessions. I've ran All Flesh Must Be Eaten in the past, as well as some GURPS and End of the World. What games do you play to get a zombie survival fix?

Today is 80s Horror on our movie marathon. Lost Boys is currently running, and it got me thinking (again) about the GURPS Blood Types book. Easily one of my top 5 GURPS books, and one I used pretty consistently in my '90s campaign.

Just learned that Drew Struzan has passed. My heart goes out to his family. He was an incredible talent and, though I never met him, he seemed like a good person. :(

Watched the Harbour Hellboy movie this morning, and while it was okay, I think I'd like to see more animated movies set in the Hellboy/B.P.R.D. Universe.

Went and saw Tron Ares yesterday. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. There were some fun call backs, and some great set up for sequels we'll probably never see unfortunately. Some of the concepts were kind of cool and could be fun to incorporate into RPG adventures.

Watching the X-Files episode "Home" today (S4 E20). One of the more horror-themed episodes of the show IMHO, and something terrifyingly easy to run in Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green. Speaking of which, has anyone ran a small group of either game akin to X-Files? Two agents looking into the weird?

Got this in the mail today. What a fantastic reprint and memory piece. I remember as a kid I had the original and read it until the cover came off. For those that didn't know, I'm a huge fan of the DC Horror line from the '60s to the '80s. Highly recommended.

Since it's spooky season, I've been reading the latest DC Finest Horror tome. Such a great book! And it got me thinking... what about running a mini-campaign using books like House of Mystery or House of Secrets as inspiration?

Having just finished Sandman and started Wednesday (first time viewing), what do you find is the line where urban fantasy crosses into horror? Beyond World of Darkness, what system do you think best emulates that kind of game?
October 8, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Speaking of Horror TTRPGs, what are some systems that you've always wanted to try but haven't had a chance? Monster of the Week is something that always looked fun to me, but I've had a "hit or miss" relationship with the PBtA engine. Vaesen is another one I've been tempted to pick up.

Continuing on a spooky TTRPG path... speaking in more modern times, I've found myself using AGE and Ubiquity over the past few decades, and have pretty much settled into Call of Cthulhu these days for almost everything. I enjoy the simplicity, but robustness of the system these days.

It's Spooky Month, so let's talk Horror TTRPGs. During the '90s I almost exclusively ran GURPS for my horror games. I found that I could really cater the game better to various styles of spookiness. From evil psychics, vampire, and beyond, the game was a ton of fun.
