I contain multitudes. Chief among them: silly things, serious things, maudlin things. Data science, databases, data ethics, R, Python, JavaScript, paleoecology, AWS, jokes (good and bad).
My #bonsai app is reminding me it’s spring! Lots of work to do when I get home.

Just trying to focus on the future. Getting things ready for summer, planning on co-planting red winecap mushrooms in my garden.

I inoculated these jars of rehydrated wheat berries and I’m going to plant the mycelia between rows of sunflowers in the back yard. Crossing my fingers!

One thing about ADHD that is great is throwing yourself into a new project, and all the excitement it brings. One thing that sucks is looking at the detritus of all the other projects. Anyway, apropos of nothing, happy holidays 😂

Sometimes #ADHDAcademia is deciding to grab the leaf blower halfway through editing a paper so you can blow out your dryer vent, then, being happy you got the dryer hooked back up, you go for a walk with the dog, forgetting both the leaf blower and the paper until the next day.

Getting these little dudes all put away for winter. A final cleanup. Almost all of my trees are local and gathered from back alleys or street trees. Hazel has probably been cultivated by First Nations people here in BC for over 7000 years.

How do you format your academic #bibliographies? I used to use bibtex, then switched to a hexadecimal hash, so Goring et al. 2023 becomes #ae657f. This way each set of references can be rendered into a colour palette for easier recall and use.
Here is the references section of my last paper:
