Amy Remeikis interviewing Sean Kelly. Excellent. Although the take home was: we're stuffed, they won't get adventurous. Some interesting insights into Albo's personality along the way. #auspol

Made it in to Civic on the bikes, about 45 mins. First day of the bloody bridgeworks and traffic was at a snails pace (one lane going north). We sailed across though. 🚲😁

Well everyone was there, at the reception at Old Parly House. We were sitting right behind Little Pattie and Kerry O'Brien. Tony Whitlam very entertaining. Anyhoo, Albo announced a new Gough statue, yay! #thedismissal

Second community gathering for the day. Spring Fling at Swinger Hill (ON the hill). I've made my usual retro festive party banger, always goes down a treat. The boys over the road have done wonders revegetating the top of the hill with natives, so time to get together and enjoy.

Jerrabomberra Wetlands #landcare day. Because November is turtle breeding month, we just did turtles today. Turtles lay eggs and then they hatch when it rains, but foxes are a problem so we cover nests with chicken wire, then when it rains we try to get to as […]

Sydney Open is on today. ABC tv interviewed a talking head about it, from the old mortuary station near Central (open today). This prompted us to go down a rabbit hole, investigating the mortuary station which became All Saints church in Ainslie, CBR […]

Nipped down to the NGA. This is our recent Jeff Koons acquisition, a gift luckily ($18 mill I think)... with large human for scale. And the explanatory note (it's a Venus thingy).
Pretty trippy.

Daughter reports our fave chilli crisp is now available in Coles. We haven't been able to find it at any of the many Asian groceries in Canberra, and bought several jars in Port Macquarie when we were last up there visiting her. Yay for Coles (can't believe I'm saying that). 🎉

Our 400 year old tree at the landcare site. We mulched all around it a coupla years ago, to deter the potentially damaging council mowers. We then planted lomandras among the mulch. They mowed straight over it several times, grrrrr. Yesterday we planted a few […]

Needed some Asian groceries so ('packed a cut lunch' and) headed over to Harrison, to the best Chinese/Korean/Japanese supermarket I've ever seen. Apart from the usual staples, we got some discretionaries, and I've finally scratched my Pocky itch: yum!

Wrangled some lovely artichokes from the farmers' markets. Steamed them and did the leaf sucking thing with aioli, then chopped up the hearts; mixed with a nice lemony dressing and some fresh broad beans. Delicious! Also made a minty brown rice salad to go with.

The wonderful Dr Michael Mulvaney guiding about 40 locals around remnant bushland behind residential Pearce, ACT. We're learning about trees, grasses, birds, insects etc and it's fascinating. #landcare
