With a remote shutter, higher iso, bulb mode and a wider lens, you can get something like this.

Haha ya, everything you've said is a great start! If you have a dslr or mirrorless camera, I highly suggest a remote shutter to use bulb mode, let's you do longer exposures. A bright body like the moon doesn't need a lot of time, but stars do.
