The UK Gov has published the Carbon Budget 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 Delivery Plan today.

Two major concerns right away.

1️⃣ They haven't even discussed reviewing the 4th & 5th Carbon Budgets: targets taking us through the critical next 8 years which were set over a decade ago and fall FAR short of what's needed.

Wow - just 3 times that saving would pay to eliminate fossil fuels for a 100% clean energy system.

Gov must find the courage to say a firm ‘No’ to the lobbyists with a wartime scale rollout of renewables.

The Gov said above 1.5°C we could "lose control of our climate for good". But @thecccuk.bsky.social now warns that we should prepare for at least 2°C by 2050.

Such a shift in just 4 years.

Yes, though I'm very focused on LNG because Norwegian imports will dry up in line with UK gas production as the North Sea declines, and because US LNG is incredibly polluting.

Roughly a quarter of the gas we burn in the UK is currently imported as shipped LNG, and rising.
