That really is the crux of the issue. The norm is regarded as men and when women are then recognized/rewarded there's simply less to go round.

It's why my daughter does not bike to school. She walks or scoots along the footpath. I see small children on that stretch cycling next to giant trucks and buses. Terrifying.
