I always say "ok, could you explain the punchline to me because I don't get where the humor is." It works pretty well in real life situations where they can't just stop responding in real time.

Omgggggg I remember discovering this in college when it was newish. I forced SO many people to watch it over the next decade or so.

Lmao, noted, will stay away from Mud wtr. I really liked Ryze, but it's the only one I've tried.

Do days of the week matter for raccoons? Is Friday trash day or something?

Haha that was the first one that turned up when I searched and I was like "this doesn't seem right..." David Hewlett and Wil Wheaton as recurring though? Hell yeah

I have not watched any of these, and they are going on my list! Thanks for the suggestions! Martin Gero worked on Dark Matter too, didn't he?

Man, I would love that, but even with my Destiny love, I'm also very ready for a completely new series that's tonally more in line with SG:1 or Atlantis. Hankering for it, even.
I know they put out a comic series for SG:U that continued that story, and I still need to read that.

Yess, and when she was hoovering solar energy. The view from the observation deck was gorgeous.

I think I also liked how different it felt from the other series, but also understand why it alienated a lot of fans for that reason. The tone was so different with markedly less camp. I really wish they had gotten one more season though to finish the story.

I completely agree the pacing faltered in places and it was in no way a perfect show, but yeah, some of those episodes are real standouts for me, and I've always been a fan of the "lost in space and trying to survive" trope when it's well done. Plus I am always biased toward Robert Carlyle lol

I could take or leave the shaky cam, but I genuinely loved SG:U and the style of stories it brought. It was the first SG series my partner watched, and she loved it so much she went back to the other series and ate them up, especially Atlantis.
That said, I completely get the criticisms SG:U get.
