Latest benefit cap data reveals that 69% of capped households are single parent families.

Half of those families have a child aged 3 or younger. Yet are expected to earn what a couple does combined.

The cap must go along with the two child limit in this Autumn Budget.

Suggestions that the two child limit could be amended but not removed are worrying.

We continue to call on the government to remove the two child limit and the benefit cap. No ifs or buts.

This kind of talk just exacerbates talk of so-called 'deserving' families.

Every child is deserving.

We've been pushing for single parents to be included in the debate on improving parental leave for families so great to see it result in single parents being mentioned in today's evidence session of the Women and Equalities Committee.
