i dont know much about her earlier work! i know she basically refused to politick at google and that that burned her, but that's basically it besides tescreal paper

I feel like the whole anti-AI movement would gain a ton of power if they just gave up on the water issue and pivoted to the electricity costs of AI generated video, or how a few huge companies have developed a stranglehold on the world. They’re hemorrhaging support online over being wrong on h2o

oh for sure, the 1000x issue is huge. i mean more that, after being alerted, she's not fully updating her beliefs and is not willing to sniff test the info on her own

fwiw i think andy is demanding an unusually high level of rigor and academic honesty from eg hao
he paints it as basic scientific understanding, but i think people are just highly motivated and very happy to not change their hypothesis in the face of new data

sucks that wapo could continue reporting about american citizens being kidnapped from their homes by us military police, which is continuing to happen AFAIK, but they choose to quibble about whether harassment is as bad as hate, instead
