As kids, we were completely unphased by the flight mechanics in Traveller. Now people complain if a game expects them to do subtraction.

I find this chart interesting, and there's an aspect which doesn't seem to get air time.

Upto the late 70s, productivity and wages increased together. Then, from the early 80s, wages stagnated despite productivity continuing to rise.
