Fun follow up, you can trap ICBC into admitting guilt by asking who's responsible for road safety infrastructure. Initially they'll say MOT is responsible. But when asked why ICBC gets road safety budget, suddenly they can't really justify getting more money than MOT while doing less for safety.

Where's the ICBC lawsuit? They're the insurance company but they're also the safety authority and responsible for safety infrastructure. By ignoring data they are negligent in their duty to protect all members of the public.

I have an idea that small streets with multiple houses could close the street for a short period, dig up the street, and install geothermal heating/cooling under the street. That would help all houses on the street at once and be more cost effective since the equipment is already there.

Super obscure one that I cannot even find examples of on the Internet. The bike company Race Face produced a CD called "Songs From The Big Ring". They gave it to bike shops who then gave it to customers. There were some great songs on it and it was brilliant marketing.

Having moved Canada -> Wales, the people in my local Royal Mail office are lovely. But I caution against mirroring an org that falsely prosecuted people with criminal charges because the accounting system made errors making it look like staff were stealing. At least 1 suicide resulted.

To be fair, I'm not entirely certain my side project (missingperson.app) is insurable either. Not sure if I'd want to be the insurance company on the hook if a missing person case goes wrong. But at least it'd generally be limited to a single claimant.

If an [semi-]autonomous vehicle crashes who's to blame? The driver, the last maintenance tech, the manufacturer, the developer, the consulting company who provided the offshore devs, the investors who pushed to market too soon, or gov regulators?

I have a 20+ year career in insurance and tech and I knew from day 1 they weren't insurable. It's hard enough to insure accounting software because a simple bug can cost millions. I'm surprised Tesla can get insurance, or anyone building autopilot vehicles.

Maybe the devs are saying "we'd like to spend real time developing/testing the product until it's production ready and doesn't hallucinate" but that'd make the product even less financially viable and it probably wouldn't even be released to market yet.
