That's very funny, but also everyone correcting said person should read Halvini and learn about apodictic transmission, forced explanations, unattributed statements and the reconstruction of dialectical argumentation by the Stammaim 🤓

That culture of having to write 20k+ words in a semester while reading at least a dozen books sucks and is extremely unhealthy, but outsourcing it is not better

I thought the paper was bullshit at the time I wrote it, but looking back it was probably not half bad, it was at the very least very creative - which goes to show that even bullshitting can teach you something - losing the skill of cooking something up at the last minute means you're learning less

Chrisitanity or atheism, recast in such a way by a sub-community that it's dependent on an unreasonable claim, either YEC or mythicism, with the denial or torturous reinterpretation of a significant body of evidence in order to doggedy defend said claim

This is the real reason it's valid to compare myticism to YEC and the like - not because it's comparably absurd, but because the rhetoric in which the theory is couched is the same, as is its centrality to a certain kind of of identity construction: reasonable identity, in this case

divine command theory or the like (including conspiratorial accusations of concerted and pervasive institutional bias and persecution) - they might not have learnt it directly from the Chrisitan right but there is a direct genealogy
