Perhaps the Government could do some sort of operational grant to help with this service. A bit like virtually every other capital city does. Otherwise, without that, paying to maintain and operate infrastructure that is sometimes over a century old will cost more and thus fares go up?

The real shame is there are some brilliant graphics designers in the rail industry who could have come up with some really interesting and much better designs.

Forgive me, but it would seem the 14th Amendment of your Constitution states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside".
Surely that is more than a principle?

I've also acquired a seven day Interrail for later in 2026 and Eurostar are trying very hard to tempt me for an early year day trip.

Plus SNCF reminding me my Carte Advantage is new renewal in March and I do need to make more use of my OV-chipkaart subscriptions.
