About the only thing I really miss about xitter is the ability to interact with UK government accounts, which seem not to realise that a lot of the world has moved on.

This con has been operational in UK politics forever (seemingly). It is the unfortunate, perhaps evil, consequence of our obsolescent, undemocratic FPTP system which invokes us to vote against what we fear rather than express our true desires and values.

I'm no longer surprised by what the orange felon does. I AM somewhat shocked that FIFA has lowered itself to this extent. We seem to be in a place where so much has little meaning any more.

That's ridiculous. I used to have to travel regularly from Liverpool to London for 10am meetings in Central London and the 7am from Lime Street was the only way to do it without an overnight stay. Gutted for Manchester people for whom this will be a MASSIVE inconvenience. Own goal Network Rail.

I've managed seven decades without feeling insecure in my British/English/part-Cornish identity or that I need flags to assert that identity against others; and I've no intention of changing that now.

It's weird that this "specialisation" thing is directly contradicting the idea of the word "university" itself, which suggests anything other.
It's almost as if they want to remake the university/polytechnic divide again, but don't dare say that.

There was me thinking that the whole idea of a *university* was to promote knowledge and research across the whole spectrum. Otherwise, why not revert most of them to polytechnic status?

This needs to be better understood. If your payroll relies on the workers receiving benefits to provide a living wage then you don't have a viable business.

I'm mostly ok with diet editions, but my spouse really finds the taste of sweeteners unbearable so always asks for the full-leaded versions.
