I think the point the doc was more going for was just "These folks don't share the same values and priorities as many in our community, and it's important to know that" and the AI thing is a totally a valid addition in that sense. It's totally at odds with how a lot of us see the world.

Nah, I think the AI thing is 100% a valid callout.
Any "maker space" that claims to support creative endeavors, then uses the shitty plagiarism robot to both generate art for its venues and to actually write its press releases, is just insulting what it is to be a creative.
It's a big L for them.

I am actually hoping that we can come to some sort of mutual understanding, and that we can stop all the animosity, because it's been a year of this and I'm torn to shreds mentally from it.
