They exchanged several letters, and a single link pearl call during this time before she returned to Eorzea after the failed rebellion that happened in Doma. (7/7)

There WAS one case where they did use letters briefly. It was after he broke her heart to keep her safe (someone had threatened to kill her if he got too close/distracted Silva from her duties) and she returned to Kugane for 6 months to mend it. (6/7)

As for Silva and Ricmorn... they're together 90% of the time since they are a WoL pair/couple. But during the rare times they're not together, they speak through their link pearls.

And those calls can be a handful of minutes to hours long. (5/7)

And for a fun fact: Silva actually makes Hien a custom stationary set for their letters. (She does this with all the people she finds important to her.) Everything in it is made by her hands alone with love and care and perfect attention to detail.

However, there are times where they do emergency calls, like when nightmares are too vivid, something has gone wrong, high anxiety, or PTSD symptons pop up and the only thing that can calm them down is hearing the other's voice. (3/7)

(Silva's "sister"/childhood friend and her half uncle work around the Enclave, so Hien sees/visits with them often.)

Their link pearl calls are more sporadic and never too long, about 10-20 minutes at most. They are more for brief updates about anything important and check-ins. (2/7)
