it is, yes! it's used pretty sparingly the first half of the game, but airship onwards i use it to oneshot pretty much every enemy i see, and you get enough shard pickups in the back half that you usually don't have to worry about running out

hi i have the speedrun world record at the moment, a lot of things from the run might help but probably the most important thing is using the orb powerup you get at the start of mountain top for the rest of the game, it makes the game so much easier
