a lot of these defenses (of AI/LLM) tend to rely on the logic you allude to in your post of "it's not worse, it's just different, and different isn't bad." feels like a disavowal of losing something, and an argument trying to talk itself into a naive position. thanks.

i tend to agree with you and appreciated this post. what do you say to the (oft well-intentioned) "but audiobooks" folks in regards to worrying about future generations' literacy?
