Best thing was it was totally unplanned - Thorsten changed the tracks mid set but wasn’t ready so he asked Paul to play anything. But Paul wasn’t sure that Hoshiko could remember the melody from Norway. Edgar told me that Hoshiko could instantly memorise Melodie’s - seems he was right all along

Well it wasn’t even Phaedra’s 50th when they did it

I saw TD in Stockholm tonight - stunning gig, they played some tracks from Stratosfear as well (3 am and the piano part from invisible limits with the melody played by Hoshiko).

Brads last book cost about $13,000 just to print, I doubt the costs have dropped since then

True but why was Canonball so popular ? - I own about 100 reviews of Sorcerer - it was kicked to pieces. it also tanked in all other countries where it wasnt up against SW (many countries released it in 1978, with the same result). Good film though

Bit of a myth that it was Star Wars that killed it (SW = May 77) (Sorcerer =June). Instead the US audience wanted escapism - see the success of The Canonball Run,released at the same time and the critics more or less all hated it (60%-70% going by vintage reviews)

I've been working on a list of TD's stage and studio equipment (1968-2026) - so far it's 784 pages long

The gear list on Poland bears no relation to what they used live - as Poland was a total studio re-creation. Edgar and Chris were more or less miming onstage with only Johannes playing anything. The backing tape years started late 1980 with the last real live performance in East Berlin in January

I hope you love it - I was going to be there and the day before but was too sick to travel. Last nights session seemed to be very rhythmic with lots of drums
