Allow me to reassure you that other suburbs still have the power on (well, tonight anyway… yesterday was a different matter…)

For now I'll need to record the offset, and later convert it to a pointer... but post refactor I won't need that. Bah.

uugh, so I'm parsing a header entry that may or may not contain the location and extent of some auxiliary data in a block that I don't have yet at that point in the code... but I'm going to be doing a refactor in a few weeks that'll mean the block in question is already mmapped in.

It is indisputably terrible for fridges to show ads (and there's a heap of reasons I don't own a "smart" tv)

That said, that particular advert would make sooo much sense in-universe that I'm still giving the agency concerned mad props for it.

Outage is up on the map now. Us and three nearby streets and the restaurants and gym in kings park.

No real eta yet, just the default "prolly about four hours"

OMG the absolute *shit storm* when a Perth alternative nightclub who played The Cure fairly often used 'that' Stranger reference when they came up with the name of an event that they noticed was going to fall on the 10 year anniversary of the unscheduled demolition of a pair of quite tall buildings…

(though my actual mental sequence is probably more "Oh, that's just dark cyan. Now what do normal people call that colour again?")
November 13, 2025 at 6:46 AM
Yeah I just saw that one. It does look slightly more green than blue that context, but I think I'd still just call it teal and be done with it.
