A glorious sunset in the Stretton Hills, with mist rolling over the lower slopes of Caer Caradoc. I was standing on the summit, looking out towards the Long Mynd. It wasn't cold up there, but when I headed back down into the mist the temperature dropped very noticeably! A great sight. #Shropshire

1/2 It’s been a hectic few days delivering our #Shropshire jigsaws ahead of the Christmas rush. The latest visit was to the Castle Bookshop in Ludlow, where I am pictured with owner Stanton Stephens. It's always good to call in at this lovely independent bookshop...

1/2 A magical sunset in the Corvedale, seen from Brown Clee. I was standing on the ramparts of Nordy Bank hill fort for this shot, looking out across the misty landscape towards the Brecon Beacons - now known as Bannau Brycheiniog - on the horizon. #Shropshire

1/2 Which path to take - the #Shropshire Way, the Jack Mytton Way or the Lea Quarry Walk? Or how about the Shrewsbury Ramblers Walk? I’ve spent a lot of time on Wenlock Edge this year and it’s been great to explore a place I didn’t know very well.

Delighted to provide eight A1 prints of my #Shropshire images for the boardroom at the Telford International Centre. The pictures have been reproduced in black and white and my favourite is the shot I am holding of a cow sticking out its tongue at the camera 🙂

Hands up if you think this is one of the best views in Shropshire! I’ve photographed Ludlow from Whitcliffe Common more times than I can remember, and I never get bored. It looks fantastic whatever the season, but the autumn colours this year make it extra special. #Shropshire

1/2 One foot in the past - I stood on the ramparts of Bury Ditches Iron Age hill fort at sunrise for a magical view across the Clun Valley. This ancient site lies between Clun and Bishop’s Castle, and is recognised as one of the finest hill forts in the country. #Shropshire

Do you know what this delicate structure is? It’s a wasps' nest which has just been removed from a wall cavity at home. Its construction looks like a multistorey car park with pillars supporting the different levels. Relieved to see it gone, but absolutely fascinating to observe it close up.

1/2 This autumn must be one of the best we have seen for years. The colours have been incredible, turning a simple walk into a true feast for the senses. I couldn't resist following this carpet of glorious, crunchy orange leaves along Wenlock Edge, but the shot needed something extra. #Shropshire

1/3 I love an inviting stile - and this has got to be one of my favourites. It leads to Stokesay Castle, seen here with the slopes of Nortoncamp Wood rising in the distance. I have paused at this spot on countless occasions, gazing out across the fields towards the... #Shropshire

1/2 Is it just me, or can anyone else imagine four Hobbits hiding from a Black Rider along this path on Wenlock Edge? Or Gandalf striding out beneath that ancient yew tree? There were plenty of opportunities to let my imagination wander on a day spent... #Shropshire

1/2 How magical is this - waves of mist rolling over Clee Liberty Common at sunset. I was standing on the ramparts of Nordy Bank hill fort, looking out across the Corvedale as this mesmerising scene unfolded in front of me. #Shropshire

A vivid band of colour lights up the sky above Ludlow Castle. Over the years I must have spent hours standing in the rain waiting for a rainbow to appear, but they were always too faint or too far over to one side. Yesterday, however, my patience paid off and I got exactly what I wanted. #Shropshire

1/3 What a sight - birds soar above a sea of mist covering the Rea Valley at sunrise. I was standing not far from Clee Hill Common, watching as the early morning sunshine picked out the distant slopes of Abberley Ridge in Worcestershire. I kept my eye glued to the viewfinder as I... #Shropshire

A patchwork of green and gold in the Clun Valley as trees cast long shadows in the evening sunlight. I was standing above Newcastle on Clun for this shot, enjoying what is one of my favourite viewpoints in the whole of the county. In the distance is the looming shape of Corndon Hill. #Shropshire

Look at this - two young deer having fun in the rain as they chase each other around our garden. We’ve had several four-legged visitors lately, but I’m unable to identify the small creature in the final clip - could it be a stoat or a weasel? #Shropshire

Glowing colours in the autumn sunshine, with the tower of St Mary’s Church rising above the rooftops at Bridgnorth. The castle ruins and Castle Walk can be seen on the right, with Thatchers Wood in the distance. This shot was taken from High Rock at sunrise - a great to start the day. #Shropshire

1/ A pink and gold sunset in the Clun Valley was made even more beautiful by the sight of birds swooping and diving across the sky. I was taking pictures on Heath Mynd when I heard a fluttering of wings and looked up. Overhead was a murmuration of starlings, the first I... #Shropshire

1/ Just look at these vivid autumn colours at Callow Hollow, one of the beautiful valleys of the Long Mynd. The steep slopes were picked out in the bright sunshine, but I needed some shadows to add depth to the picture. It felt like only a few minutes before ... #Shropshire

A beautiful morning on the Llangollen Canal near Ellesmere, with narrowboats echoing the colours of autumn. This is a favourite spot of mine, especially at this time of year when the beech trees along the towpath turn a glorious shade of red and gold. #Shropshire

1/ It looks like something from a galaxy far, far away, but this is the Harvest Moon rising over Titterstone Clee. The sky was a vivid blend of pink and purple, contrasting with the cool tones of the radar dome below. I had reached the summit with plenty of time to spare and... #Shropshire

1/ Honestly, the traffic on #Shropshire's footpaths these days! I couldn’t help but smile when I encountered a local resident along the Severn Way, near Bridgnorth. This friendly cow stopped to stare at me but slowly ambled off as I climbed over the stile and headed out into the morning sunshine.
