Eine Schwarz-Weiß-Filmszene aus François Truffauts „Sie küßten und sie schlugen ihn“ (Les Quatre Cents Coups). Der junge Jean-Pierre Léaud, in der Rolle des Antoine Doinel, liegt rauchend und lesend auf einem provisorischen Bett. Er hält ein Buch von Balzac in den Händen. Die Szene verkörpert die jugendliche Rebellion, Melancholie und die Flucht in die Literatur, die Léauds Darstellung und den Beginn der französischen Nouvelle Vague prägten. Worum geht es bei Jean-Pierre Léaud? Jean-Pierre Léaud ist nicht nur ein Schauspieler, sondern das Gesicht der französischen Nouvelle Vague. Wenn man über ihn spricht, geht es meist um folgende Kernpunkte: Die Symbiose mit Antoine Doinel: Léaud wurde durch seine Rolle als Antoine Doinel weltberühmt. Truffaut begleitete die Figur (und den alternden Léaud) über 20 Jahre lang in mehreren Filmen. Er wurde zum Alter Ego des Regisseurs. Natürlichkeit und Rebellion: In den späten 50ern und 60ern brach sein Spiel mit den steifen Traditionen des Kinos. Er wirkte oft nervös, impulsiv und absolut authentisch – ein krasser Gegensatz zu den "glatten" Hollywood-Stars jener Zeit. Die Muse der Meister: Neben Truffaut arbeitete er mit fast allen Größen dieser Ära zusammen, insbesondere mit Jean-Luc Godard. Er verkörperte oft den intellektuellen, aber verlorenen jungen Mann in einer sich wandelnden Gesellschaft. Kulturelle Ikone: Das Bild oben (aus seinem Debüt mit ca. 14 Jahren) zeigt bereits das Kernthema: Ein Kind, das zu schnell erwachsen werden muss, sich gegen Autoritäten auflehnt und in der Kunst (Balzac) Trost sucht.

Weitere Geschäfte aus diesem Bild: Eduscho, Singer, Peek + Cloppenburg /// Zu dieser Zeit machte ich meine erste Berufsausbildung zum Kaufmann im Einzelhandel bei der Firma Techma GmbH und arbeitete nebenbei im Kino. Meine Arbeitswochen sahen so aus: Montag bis Freitag von 09:00 bis 18:30 Uhr bei Techma, anschließend bis 01:00 Uhr morgens im Kino. Samstag und Sonntag von 14:00 bis 01:00 Uhr ebenfalls im Kino. Ich war damals so gut wie nie zu Hause. Das war aber die perfekte Gelegenheit, meinem Vater aus dem Wege zu gehen. EN: This was playing in 1987 at the Bambi Cinema in Wolfsburg (Porschestraße): Black Widow. At the Imperial, An American Tail was showing. Other shops visible in this photo: Eduscho, Singer, Peek & Cloppenburg. At that time, I was doing my first vocational training as a retail salesman at Techma GmbH and working at the cinema on the side. My workweek looked like this: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Techma, followed by shifts at the cinema until 1:00 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, I worked at the cinema from 2:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. as well. Back then, I was hardly ever at home — but that was the perfect way to stay out of my father’s way.

I bought some stickers that look like passport stamps. There are also ones that resemble luggage tags from airport check-ins, each featuring a different country. Great for decorating your own suitcases—or, as I did,for covering my journals and notes with them. Looks pretty nice.

Today I really feel like recording a few cassettes and MiniDiscs. I’m flexible with the sources: vinyl and Apple Music, both running through the mixing console into the tape deck. I think this will make a nice mixtape.
