Maybe that is exactly why on days like this, we need to remember and share the precious moments we have, no matter how small they may be.

The series has slowed down and with it, our engagement. But it is not gone and no one can take us the memories.

After 2016 everything slowly faded into oblivion, which is understandable and sad alike.

Mobile games have come and gone, marketing has taken unpredictable turns (not in the best sense) and even merchandise is slowly moving towards exclusivity.

We also did some fan organized stuff at events throughout the following years. Quizzes, fan booths... Good times.

I also fondly remember meeting up at my place a week after Zestiria release to play together (Zesty7 💕).
Not sure I'd still do interpreting entire games on the spot anymore though XD

The next major turning point was Baba-san's appearance in Germany in 2012, marking the start of what I personally refer to the Golden Age of Tales.

It lead to the ambassador contest in Paris and making countless friends around the globe, many of which I am still in contact with today ❤️

I spent the following year playing through the older games, either with patch, text translation next to it or just in plain japanese. I still have some spin off titles on my list, but I managed to complete the majority of my Tales backlog at that point and had a lot of fun.

Just how much invested we were? We had a full Graces cosplay group just a few months after release for which I made half of the costumes myself... 🫠 I've never been that insane ever again and that is probably for the best - but I have no regrets.

2009 also marks the beginning of my Japanese studies. I played Vesperia on PS3 as well as Graces on Wii fully in Japanese, relying on my listening skills. I actually bought the Wii just to play Graces... I was so excited for it and shared that excitement with friends I had made in the year before.

Easy to tell what my next cos in 2009 would be then, right?

I played Phantasia, Eternia and Radiant Mythology after Symphonia (or: everything that was available at the time!) but took me a while to actually finish the former two.

I had fun with all of them, but I got completely hooked with Abyss. To this day it remains special and probably always will.

(I haven't planned anything to be honest, but might add posts here and there today / tomorrow as I see fit xD)

My Tales of gaming journey should date back to 2006 but I started cosplay in 2007. Yes, with Tales, who would have guessed!

I only helped a bit to make, it was mostly done by my aunt.

Je weiter man kommt desto mehr Gefühle kommen auf. Imo.
