The heavy p1 PS critiques were always there but they're subtle compared to have them take the role of bad guys and not having a main mastermind punchable face among them.

Not only because it's a bit surface level but also she doing what she did makes her a bit unreliable for most casuals i assume.
And by the end of p1 the reader is sold too much on the "bad apple Makima" fantasy and as unintended consequence sees people like Kishibe as heroes/good guys.

The Aki bias comes from the fact we've seen PS from a tainted glass perspective in p1. Yes, it was never meant to be seen as "good" but is a farcry from how bad p2 PS is.

I don't think there is implied romance from Fujimoto btween Yuko and Asa but Yuko/Reze work very similar towards Asa/Denji.
They both know so much and are so important that they needed to be removed by external forces. Despite being american coded, Yuko genuinely would "save" Asa if left as it was.
