That’s true, it hasn’t occurred to me. I suppose the high contrast black and white treatment gave it a spooky look.

Thank you, but a sense of foreboding? Something like the Phantom of the Opera, maybe? It was taken during a great comeback gig of a 90s Scottish indie band called Idlewild.

Unfortunately not, but it would make sense since Tolkien used to drink there apparently. Eagle & Child has been closed for a few years now. It’s a pub called The Library down the Cowley Road.

That’s true. It’s common seeing tourists queuing up to take photos in these telephone boxes around London.
