Apathetic Gen Xer like so many of us. (I guess technically not “many”) Queen of TMI, part time croshitter and occasional rpger. Often financial know-it-all for a DC nonprofit, living in Balmer suburbs as a full-time wife, mom, and gramma.
I just see that photo of Elie Wiesel in camp. I feel ill.

Cold nights mean binging on Dimension 20 reruns and cranking out granny squares for my temperature blanket. 🧶

Im working on my temperature blanket from 2024. I fell behind because of surgeries but I’ve got my data to be able to finish. I did granny squares. 1 square = 1 day along with 1 square for each month’s average

Spent a brief visit at my son’s. The granddaughter had a lovely Xmas. She tried to get me up at 4am to open presents.

My granddaughter is visiting for the holiday. She’s almost 7. So, time to pull out the backgammon set and teach her how to play.

My mom passed when she was 65, from lung cancer. (Please, don't smoke.) Before she passed, she allowed me to keep her ring as it's the strongest association I have with her. I tend to wear it on the anniversary of her passing and her birthday. I miss you, mommy. Happy 83rd.

When I get calls from numbers I don’t recognize, I don’t answer with “hello.” I answer with “this is Sherrie.” And I wait for a response. If it’s a real person we talk. Silence = bot. I put the phone down & leave it connected to tie up the line. Usually it hangs up pretty quick. Not this time.

While I usually find nextdoor to be full of racism and bad tropes, every once in a while, I get a good laugh out of the discourse.
