You cannot have a functioning economy when so few people at the top hold so much of the nation’s wealth. It’s not sustainable.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

SEN. KELLY : “They informed me of this in a tweet because this is not about the law. This is about the media cycle, and intimidation… We basically repeated the uniform code of military justice, and they're saying that's in violation of it. It's absurd. Comical.”

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

NEW: Sean Duffy frequently calls safety his “top priority” as transportation secretary. But I spent months wading through regulatory notices and found something far different: that USDOT has been delaying, weakening and killing dozens of safety rules, many opposed by the transportation industry.🧵

Its simple: The foundation for Ukraine to sign a peace agreement first and foremost is: A GUARANTEE OF SUPPORT!!

Now why is that too difficult?

"This war can be brought to an end, but the basic logic remains what it always was: the Ukrainians have to be supported so that Russia no longer aspires to destroy their country. That is the foundation. Negotiations will work when that has been achieved."
We hear that Putin and Trump (or their emissaries) have been secretly consulting about a settlement to the war. Given the inherent traps of allowing an aggressor to decide the outcome of his war, I try here to give a sense of how negotiations might actually work.

What do you think our US Intelligence is feeling about donald after this traitorous display?
"things happen"
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

The National Press Club (of which I'm a board member) "is deeply troubled by President Trump's comments today regarding the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi." www.press.org/newsroom/nation...
National Press Club Statement on President Trump’s Remarks on the Murder of Jamal Khashoggi
WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 – The National Press Club is deeply troubled by President Trump’s comments today regarding the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Mr. Khashoggi’s murder inside a diplomatic facility was a grave violation of human rights and a direct attack on press freedom. That fact is not in dispute. For reporters around the world — and for those who risk their lives to report on powerful figures, governments, and global events — statements that appear to minimize or excuse the killing of a journalist have real-world consequences. They can embolden those who wish to silence reporters, and they can undermine the essential principle that journalists must be able to work without fear of violence or retribution. The National Press Club stands with Jamal Khashoggi’s family, with our colleagues at The Washington Post, and with journalists everywhere who continue to do their jobs under threat. Mr. Khashoggi’s death was a tragedy and a crime. His life and work deserve truth, transparency, and unwavering recognition of the principles he upheld. We urge all world leaders — including our own — to speak with moral clarity about the protection of journalists and to reinforce the universal commitment that a free press is indispensable to a free society. About the National Press Club Founded in 1908, the National Press Club is the world’s leading professional organization for journalists. With 2,500 members, the Club, through its Press Freedom Center, is a leading voice for press freedom in the U.S. and worldwide.
