Today was the Rochester #MakerFaire at @rittigers.bsky.social !

My two favorite exhibits were the Lego Donkey Kong set, and the plush train the RIT model railroad club had.
A Lego set featuring the first level of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. It has the classic red beams, Pauline, Jump Man, and DK! An orange stuffed train. There is one locomotive and four passenger cars behind it.

Made an #APRS digipeater recently, and put it in my attic. It detects APRS from folks driving near my house and forwards them to aprs.fl!

It is powered by a Raspberry Pi, a SHARI and software called Direwolf.

I also made the antenna for it out of some copper wire.

After working there for a decade, yesterday was my last day at #L3Harris. I leaned a lot in my time there, and grew as a software engineer.

While I will miss my co-workers and friends, I am excited for my new role at Safran Federal Systems! I start there Monday!

Built a Slim Jim antenna with @thenaterhood.bsky.social recently!

We walked apart from each other and could hear each other clearly 1.5km away on the 70CM band.

Need to try further away next time!

I officially have two #Meshtastic nodes up and ruining!

One is Raspberry Pi powered, and connected to the antenna on my roof. The other is a bit more mobile.

I'm the only nodes in the area by the looks of things, though 😕.

Yesterday, I volunteered for a #ScoutingAmerica recruitment event with my local council.

In Command and Conquer Renegade, you could unlock hidden characters in multiplayer by typing "extras fnkqrrm".

The CRC-32 of "fnkqrrm" is 65729409, which the source code requires to unlock the extras (for a little bit at least, looks like newer versions of the game don't require the password).

I got a drone for Christmas. Today was the first day where it wasn't terribly windy.

These are some photos I took. Annoyingly, the app that came with the drone doesn't seem to work well on my phone, so these are completely blind. Oh well, maybe I'll figure out how to get the app working next time.

I've officially been at L3Harris for 10 years! My plaque arrived in the mail today.

I didn't think I'd be working for the Military Industrial Complex™️ for this long, but life is funny that way.
