Today was Gypsy 2008 Broadway Soundtrack with Patti Lupone. Different songs slightly which was fine. But the performances lacked something. The singing was solid but felt a bit emotionless? Will have to check out the timing of the soundtrack to various videos I've seen which were not emotionless.

Finished first day of Gypsy watching Bette Midler's 1993 Television movie version. Reminded me how beautiful her voice can be! Also, caught Elizabeth Moss as a young Louise. Went back and rewatched some scenes after figuring that out.

OK, first impressions is that Jack Klugman did not need to sing on Broadway to be successful. And an hour of Ethel Merman is a bit harsh for 8am but was able to enjoy the lyrics!
