Qualified teacher now a SEND tutor. Provide 1-1 personalised tuition to young people who can't access the current education system. Tailor-Made Tutoring York.
The company our primary now uses is £10 for a download. The cheapest I could get for the secondary was nearly £30 for 5 pictures of varying sizes. I prefer the download option.

As a governor I think it's so important for you to communicate these feelings to at least your chair or vice chair and lean on them for support where you can. You are doing such an important and difficult job.

My son will be happy to hear this,he's read all of them so far. These books and Dogman have inspired him to write his own!

Yes I would agree, use open ended games and activities and professional judgement. Many of these students will not manage formal assessments and as you say they won't reflect their true knowledge.

Yes that's fine.

If you are happy to message me your email I'll send it to you. Hopefully it will be helpful.

I've done my own spreadsheet mapping the curriculum up from primary to gcse including functional skills. It's general curriculum not specific exam board syllabus though. That's my next step. Happy to share if it might be useful?

Exactly, I'm not against uniform at all but it needs to be comfortable, practical and affordable. My son chose his school mainly as it was the only one which doesn't have blazers near us. But still a shirt and tie!

My son does this, though I do think that ties are completely unnecessary.

Yes this! Would always rather read than watch and listen!

These are fab! Thank you for sharing.

The possible changes are a real worry for so many families. The impact on the whole family is huge when provision isn't right for the child and it's so hard for parents to get the right support, even with the legal support.

More support very much welcome.

We have, so far, 36k+ signatures to our letter from women saying ‘Not in our name’ - in response to the horrific demonisation of trans people under the guise of “protecting women”.

Help us get to 100k by signing and/or sharing… 🩷

Definitely push for that and remember his EHCP can last him until he's 25 so if he needs time to catch up then he should be given it.

It's awful, and so damaging for families. We need some big changes throughout the whole system.

In my experience working with families in similar situations, yes, unfortunately this is what they do across many councils. Time wasting and avoidance. I'm so sorry.
