Our session explored how studying bioenergetics enzymes via structural biology in divergent protist sheds light on the role of these enzymes and their assemblies across eukaryotes and on how they function in the context of each organisms’ specialised needs.

Other complex III inhibitors are being developed as drug leads for apicomplexan diseases.
Together with Stone Doggett and colleagues at @OHSUNewswe we showed how the drug-lead ELQ-300 binds Toxoplasma complex III and designed a more potent version.
