i see such a potent transfem metaphor, who sacrificed so much to create a thing that gave her meaning, catharsis. and instead of using her self hate to change herself, she used that to create life. she wanted serra to experience all sort of joy that she couldnt, and set her up as best she could

very interesting and very cool interpretation. i took "him" as like, a deeply repressed, and deeply traumatized girl. i see the tragedy of a woman who never got to be. wont be remembered as such. but in every sense she was a woman, a mother, and she was abused by her industry as women so often are.
