Dev here, it's actually a bit complex. The main puzzle is multiple combined static immovable meshes. When pieces are moved they are temporary physics pieces that get merged back in once settled.

This fixes that problem and allows 10,000+ unique shaped pieces to be drawn at once with high FPS.
