For some crazy reason, I don't want her recalled. I want half a dozen of her MLAs to lose their seats, the NDP to assume the majority, and one by one, the bills she helped pass to be repealed. I wanna see the look on her face.

He could have leveraged endorsement of the Northern Line for a lot more, which is alarming considering some of the legislation that the UCP have passed in the past month. Recinding the Anti-trans laws and back to work order for the teachers are just 2 examples. 2/

I like him too. I voted for him. He is the PM we need right now - to broker trade deals and get out goods to market. I thought a deal was to be made with the UCP - they clearly have been pushing this Northern Gateway idea. But Carney's political naivete is showing. 1/

I often wonder the same thing. What happens when they finish their attacks on the trans community. Who's next? But mark my words, there will be someone. Taking their grievence away from them to appease the UCP base wont really work, they will find something else for Dani to gripe about. 1/

I don't think it'll get built either, but it stings a little to have our Prime Minister playing patty-cakes with a party that (so far) this month has used the NWC four times and is in the process of tabling legislation that will likely violate the Canada Health Act.

The only point I would add is the UCP may have employed this strategy because there is no accountability. If they had a mechanism for inquiry, such as the Emergencies Act, would they have used it?

I do have to disagree with Thomas's comparison of the NWT to the Emergencies Act. The main difference is that the use of the Emergencies Act triggered an Inquiry into its use - meaning that the invocation was subject to some accountability. The NWC is lawless, reckless and in the UPCs case malicious
