Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #262,249! I'd like to thank the Academy... I think is was really @ianlivingston.bsky.social and @markellinwood.bsky.social who got me to come over.
@craigcalcaterra.bsky.social I thought this might be a short distraction from the Lizza horror. www.iflscience.com/why-do-croco...

Nothing like a contest and decent band conditions to bring 15 and 10 meters to life.

@yayroger.bsky.social Are you at the game?
September 13, 2025 at 8:54 PM
@yayroger.bsky.social I shared the subheadline of today's Mets Newsletter. Replies were:

1) Sugar should do a commercial for Depends.

2) Depends, when both the bases and your bowels are full.

@yayroger.bsky.social My one trip to Citi Field this season will be next Saturday, 9/13. If Manaea actual takes his turn on Monday, that lines up to be a Sproat start!

@yayroger.bsky.social Thanks for the inherited runner information. It would be interesting to see if Mets relievers have come in with more men on base given Mendy's penchant for keeping the starter in during their final inning until a runner or two is on base.

@yayroger.bsky.social May yesterday come to be known as "McLean Day" in the annals of Mets lore.

@tedleo.bsky.social Man, the opening guitar riff on C.I.A. gets me going every single time. Then there is a 6+ minute barn burner after that! Saw you perform CIA live at a in Towson, MD on the Living With the Living tour (college visit to Goucher for my older son). It was our first TL/RX show. 1/2

@yayroger.bsky.social When you're gifted a run saving ground rule double and still lose the mojo gods are definitely against you. The "Curse of Candelita"?

Did you see enough Mets Beatle Night coverage for a Josie Scale rating?

@icebird.bsky.social If you come back to South Kingstown at some point, you be happy to know that they've replaced the portion of Kingstown Road between the bowling alley and the library.

Whenever I see this derecho graphic, I expect it to be the @theweatherexpert.bsky.social version and I'm disappointed when it isn't.

This looks familiar, although oriented a different way and not as creative as the original and never to be forgotten "Long Chile" map. @craigcalcaterra.bsky.social I think Anna should sue and you've said you kept your law license.

So @craigcalcaterra.bsky.social this is day 6 of my quasi-retirement. Not bad although a bit earlier than I hoped d/t a sub-optimal pathology report post prostate surgery. Given Ryne Sandberg's passing and my own situation (I'm also 65), all I have to say is guys, make sure to get your PSA tested.

No pile of boxes is too high for Peanut to get into. These are stacked 3 high. I did, however, need to help him out.

@yayroger.bsky.social So are the 2025 Mets still a high variance 89 win team where we got all of the positive variance up front? So basically the 2024 Mets in reverse which feels much less fulfilling.
June 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
@yayroger.bsky.social Two things:

1) Mitch Keller auditioning for the Mets? I've felt he was good even if full season stats say otherwise.
2) I never would have guessed that Wayne Garret topped the Mets monthly OPS list and I watched Wayne Garrett play and likely watched 120+ games in 1970.

@craigcalcaterra.bsky.social I'm not sure that you'd want to go to Hungary until there's a change in government, but when this showed up in my podcast feed, I thought of you.

@weatherretort.com This is one of the few days that the Heat Warning makes it all the way down to the south coast of RI. I'm curious about that small portion of CT from the state line of RI/CT toward New Haven only having a Heat Advisory.

@yayroger.bsky.social I already had a ticket for the 9/13 game against the Rangers and I am assuming that the Alumni Classic will be part of that admission? Now all I need is for deGrom to start the game for the Rangers.

We went to the Old Timers Day game a few years ago and it was great fun.

@yayroger.bsky.social Just a message to let you know that I really enjoy the Mets Newsletter. I'm an early to bed person so the game recap is great, I love the non-game asides and links and the minor league summaries are informative. On top of that, your writing style is engaging. Thanks Roger!
