The tape itself is, in most cases, completely fine. Usually there’s a mechanical issue such as a degraded or ‘melting’ pressure pad. I have a -lot- of tapes for the MZ and it’s always surprising just how many still work perfectly fine. I guess it comes down to storage conditions.

@breakintoprogram.co.uk I still need to see if I can get the rest of the MZ-80A programs to work. I think it’s a bit hit and miss though with how compatible they really all are with the different machines.
