We have our own progressive tax system. Low earners pay a lower percentage of tax than in England and higher earners pay more. This covers free prescriptions, free early years childcare and university education for Scottish students and various other things.

It is toasty but my awful circulation means my hands and feet are freezing despite wearing so many clothes I feel like the Michelin man.

It’s frozen here too. I’ve got so many clothes on I can hardly move. And I’m still freezing. And the decking out to my office is like an ice rink.

Yes, we have some snow on the Eildons and some on the Gattonside hills behind us. Not much but it looks nice.

I kept my eyes focussed on the cat for the last few minutes. That seemed to work well.
