Filoni has strengths. Clone Wars is a really fascinating rehabilitation campaign for the Prequels that works, Rebels is a contained story that sticks the landing. But what Star Wars needs is 1) less reverence for its own canon, and 2) a willingness to let the lore break precendent for good stories
