Mold finished, poured and pulled first mask this weekend. Mold def had some issues so the mask needs some trimming and cleanup, but overall it came out great! Will be attaching the horns and incisors as well. First mask I’ve created. Here’s to many more!

Wrapped up the sculpt of my mask over the weekend. I'm letting it dry a bit more and then I'll be molding her up this coming Saturday! I'm looking forward to the first pull!

Working on my first mask. First time working this large and first time working with WED clay. Love the ease of movement with the clay! Not sure I’ll have it finished before Halloween but I’m going to try.

A series of maquette’s and maquette pieces in a desktop spray booth. In the foreground are some paintbrushes and bottles of paint. The tabletop is covered in paint spills and brush strokes in various colors. Some of the maquette’s are partially painted: some with dark blacks and flesh tones, others in bone color and black washes. Some are primed in dark gray primer. The maquette’s range from a laughing clown reminiscent of Joker, a skull, a biomechanical, and a zombie. Resin maquette biomechanical body painted in an hombre like gradient from fleshy pink, to dark burgendy red, to black. Biomechanical in desktop spray booth. Quick speed video capturing what I’ve been doing the past week and a half. Pulled the last biomechanical, molded Blast Face zombie and pulled first cast, began some patch work on the biomechs (not fun), some sculpting, some priming, some video making. 😅

Biomechanical sculpt inspired by HR Giger. Clay sculpture depicting a skull head that stretches backward into a phallic shape, with a serious of small spines running the length of the head. The body is a combination of organic and mechanical forms. My rendition of the Tooth Fairy. A old, witchy face with a toothless grin. She has Ann aged and wrinkled body with long ropy hair that hangs to her waist. Her arms are reaching out, long and thin, with sharp claws at the end. Her feet are lizard like, with talons. She has a large set of wings open from her back. A mowhawked figure stands pointing a large revolver. He is bare chested with a large holster strapped to the side of his chest. He wears a pair of blue jeans cinched with a large belt and buckle. Based on the character Travis Bickel from the movie Taxi Driver. A zombie bust. The side of its face is maimed as if partially torn away by a fire arm blast. One eye droops while the other is wide in a vacuous stare. The chest is rotting, the flesh starting to disintegrate and reveal the bones beneath. The mouth is open in a rotten toothed snarl.
