8️⃣all the D6 fantasy systems, PbtA games, all of them have closer to the balance these folks claim they want, but instead they want to sit around and argue about white room horse shit and it's so goddamn pointless. the Devs know their jobs better than you know their jobs.

7️⃣and some of this has to do with the D20 bubble, and the fact that people will never leave it, but endlessly complain about it. Mage the awakening doesn't have the same casting issues, neither does mage the ascension. those are right there? Shadowrun? Savage worlds? Mutants and Masterminds? BESM?

6️⃣Again, we *HAD* that. 4e had Wizards that worked like martials, and martials that worked like wizards, and everyone fucking hated it. (don't let them gaslight you to believing that everyone "loved 4e acktually". I was *there*, I saw the backlash)

5️⃣It just frustrates me when I look on reddit and once again seeing people fall into the "Why do wizards not work like martials!?" question, over and over. "Because they don't. move on or play something else" is kinda becoming my default answer.

Probably why I'm not in customer service.

4️⃣It's ok that we're playing games. it's ok that those games have rules. It's ok if there is an artifice to the fact that Wizards have spell slots, because otherwise wizards would *WRECK GAME BALANCE* etc. and remember, 4e *HAD* everyone have roughly similar powers and abilities and people *hated* it

2️⃣maybe instead of trying to chase a nebulous concept like "realism" and "immersion" in ttrpgs, we just be unashamed to be playing a *gasp* game. It's fine to just..enjoy a game. It doesn't need to be Shakespeare to enjoy ttrpgs as just what they are, and this need to appeal to authority irks me.
