When I read something written by a real human, I like that I can hear their voice in it. I think I notice when the voice is missing.

I did see The Matrix before LotR movies, and my dad would really annoy me by whispering “Mr. Anderson” to me while we were watching a scene with Elrond.

I didn’t know about the writer/director either, but it looks like he won a screenplay Oscar in 1998, so I’m guessing he wasn’t that unknown.

I listened to the audiobook with my 6-year-old daughter in the car on a week when we had to do some extra driving together, and we both enjoyed it. It was really lovely.
