Been awake for over an hour, (still in bed), get text that there’s a power outage in your area, look at my alarm clock, and see that my power is indeed out. Hadn’t noticed.

Man, I really wish there was a new Ready Room right now

omg, I _love_ Starfleet Academy! I love everything about it. The premise, the characters, the vibe, the acting, the dialog, the sets, the effects, the music, the lighting, the costumes, the Easter eggs, literally all of it! They hit it outta the park!

Time for some Star Trek!! I don’t think I’ve even seen any trailers for this yet, (maybe a teaser awhile back), so going in pretty close to blind.

I cannot decide if I want to move my Fitbit data over to Google, or if I’d rather just delete my account and try something new. I’ve loved Fitbit for *years*, I don’t want to stop, but.. I try to avoid Google, I don’t want them having all that data. (Assuming it is actually still separate right now)

Just came across the phrase “evolutionarily designed”, and.. um, regardless of your beliefs about evolution, that’s contradictory.

I wish I’d taken a cruise before covid, because I don’t think I’ll ever do it now.
January 13, 2026 at 3:02 AM
Oh, new Star Trek this week! I didn’t realize it was coming out this soon, yay!

Local news break during NYE specials is my least favorite half hour of TV of the entire year.

I’m giving up social media (and mobile games) for the month of January, to hopefully use my time more wisely and feel better. Just haven’t decided yet if that starts tonight at midnight, when I wake up in the morning, or when I get home in a couple days. (It’s still the holidays until I’m back home)

Doing something I swore I’d never do: watching a movie on TCM that came out after I was born. (Prancer. I suppose I could make an exception for Christmas movies?) And, I did watch a silent movie that came out the year my grandfather was born, so, I guess it balances out.

Trying to use the long holiday vacation to see if I can cut myself off from (OTC) sleeping pills, and.. it’s not going great. I’m tired, y’all. But I think I wanna stick with it at least a little while longer.

Oh my gosh, there’s an episode about Marjorie! I’m so excited for this!

Christmas time makes me miss being in choir. Maybe I oughta do something about that.

Just heard the song Joseph’s Lullaby for the first time. Beautiful song, makes me cry, very touching.

Trying to sing along to For Unto Us A Child Is Born, and I forgot how physically difficult that run is to sing. My abs (or something) hurt.

Recorded the nutcracker last night, but the guide was off, so.. I get to watch the first hour of it anyway. I need to see this in person sometime.
December 18, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Oh great, I get to watch the (recorded) presidential speech, since I’m at my grandparents house, and dad is driving the remote. Yay…
December 18, 2025 at 2:50 AM
Decided to build a playlist of all the versions of I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas I can find, and.. well, I found the AI slop. (Including one particularly (I assume) offensive “funny Indian” version, which.. apparently is a whole thing.)

How am I just now finding out that there’s a ((relatively) recent) song by Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood?? My little multi-genre lovin’ Millenial heart can hardly take it!
December 16, 2025 at 6:27 AM
Sugarland’s Gold and Green is one of my fav Christmas albums ever. And maybe even one of my fav albums period. The originals are *fantastic*, the standard songs have unique arrangements, and it introduced me to Nuttin’ for Christmas.

It’s hard to pack for winter when you only spend approximately 10 days a year in winter weather. I know what kinds of clothes and things I need, but.. I just like forget every time. I don’t remember what winter actually feels like.

Why do parents always seem to send texts to the wrong person? I think I’ve done that maybe once ever in my life.
December 14, 2025 at 5:07 PM
They should make more shirt box style Christmas boxes in sizes other than shirt.
