Those with resources to afford care work are deciding for those who cannot.
This is not an attempt to preach or criticize, but rather to underscore the importance of class diversity in policymaking and the need for empathy among policymakers and researchers.

Those from more privileged backgrounds or who have been exposed to a more privileged setting would have access and cultural capital to help navigate the process and overcome the confusion. And more importantly, have the safety net if things don't go according to plan.

... and how it legitimizes policies that discriminates citizens according to their social class. If you are successful you deserve better quality healthcare, tax breaks, subsidies etc. And if you are not, then you should work harder to earn them.
