The Claude AI agent, while it's thinking, will sometimes say "Flibbertigibbeting" as a placeholder, which in modern speak is roughly, "being silly." I pointed out to workers that it's actually a Shakespearean reference to the devil and now it's taken on a whole new meaning when Claude says it.

If I made a 6-letter Bardle do you think anybody would play it? Been thinking about it. It's a chance to rewrite the whole thing from scratch, add the context that everybody's asked for, etc. Hardest part would be generating and curating the word (and answers) list.

Exactly. 1980s movie but a very 70s depiction of nerds that became rooted in our minds. Meanwhile movies like Hackers, Wargames and Weird Science came a lot closer to what the "smart kids" were doing with their free time.

I always preferred "geek". Nerd, if you're a child of the 80s, never truly escaped the "adhesive tape on the glasses and pocket protector" stereotype and the "we're the only ones who are good at computers" thing.
