For decades, the arms trade has sold us the lie that war brings peace and weapons keep us safe. SWI is exposing how the horrors in Gaza and Yemen prove the opposite.

Bear in mind the excruciating detail that civil society experts are required to give, to even make the case for considering restrictions on arms exports. But the state just gets to say “international peace and security” and the legal system and public opinion are supposed to just accept it

There is NO meaningful detail of ANY “alleged damage” to int. peace & security - it’s all in the closed papers. Only Special Advocates & judge can see those. Observers will scour the eventual judgment for insight. But this is carte blanche exercise of state power. What work is law doing here?

By analysing Israeli import customs data, we were able to get a rare glimpse of some of the arms delivered to Israel last year.

For a few months in 2024, it looked like Germany had slowed down its licensing for arms exports to Israel. But at the end of the day, what matters are arms deliveries. And Germany does not publish what arms are actually delivered.
