Researching Russia’s ethnic minority movements at Tel Aviv University and BESA Center and writing for RFE/RL. Chronically curious about sociolinguistics and doing a project on the Hebrew-influenced Tibeto-Burman languages of the Bnei Menashe.
Just published a brief article with preliminary field observations on the Hebrew-influenced varieties of Mizo and Thadou Kuki spoken by the Bnei Menashe in Israel. Requires institutional access as happens with academic publishers but feel free to DM me for a copy.

Last year, I wrote an article explaining that contrary to popular belief, the pro-Israel UN voting pattern of certain South Pacific island states has more to it than their dependency on the US. Today, I’m not sure I can say the same about Israel itself. Are we less independent than Micronesia?

The research proposal that got me admitted to a PhD program was a continuation of what I worked on during my BA and MA studies. How “uniquely familiar with the topic” I already was was a decisive factor. The thing is, I’m not sure I still want to write about it. Hesitant to bring this up. 1/6

Made an account on here, forgot about it, came back a few months later and found out I’ve got 87 new followers. Not bad, might as well stay!
