Here for the cricket chat.
Did the water companies chose where and when to test?
One in seven seems low.

With apologies for a quotation which only refers to men.
"One man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages"
The scientists need to find the other two.

This is obviously a tragic situation but the article points out that ECB had “funded treatment, hospital stays and extended his health treatment insurance” after his departure in February 2022.
Coaches & players get engaged & removed, I can't see that a contract means a lifelong responsibility.

I think caution is worth it.

Sugar - the dentists' friend. Also poor dentition leads to poor health.
Calories without nutrition.

Can he bat with his fingers crossed?

A wise decision.

Tongue firmly in cheek when they sang this.

Flanders and Swann
"And all the world over, each nation's the same
They've simply no notion of playing the game
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won
And they practise beforehand, which ruins the fun!"
Does the ECB disapprove of serious practice?

Also a forest takes a generation to develop. The Woodland Trust's Heartwood Forest is developing well after 18 years but was closed for the first ten to allow planting to take place and is really just woodland at the moment.

This seems to be as realistic as Coleridge's Xanadu.
East of Cambridge has probably been chosen as cheap & easy for the builders. Targeting a food growing area is a curious choice; whatever Its ecological status, it is productive land. It's a water deficit area, so development needs to be curtailed.

Wear colours and shades which suit you, avoiding what is considered "fashionable". Pinks & blues come in a massive range of shades & with different intensities. Some people suit vibrant intensive shades, others pastels. Patterns or plain material are equally important.

As the "plan" was written in Moscow, there is nothing for which to be grateful. It is pretty much an instrument of surrender.

Reducing competition or just a vague attempt for a form of respectability?

Rhetorical question surely? What does survive the arrival of the military?

Both bird flu and Christmas are bad news for turkeys.

Smithy's dismissal is missing the point.
Now in my 60s I have experienced a lot of England defeats; matches & series, long term lows & odd shocks.
This was worse than anything else, including the 2006-7 Ashes which was the worst ever series defeat at that time.

Hurting?
If the players aren't writhing in agony, they should be.
But they'll probably shrug it off with a couple of days on the golf course.

Trump Isn't pushing to end the war (actually a hostle invasion) so much as pushing for a Putin victory. I need to work out what is in it for him. Is it solely an attempt for a Nobel prize (we all know he is desperate for one).
