EU needs to set a climate target that will reduce GHG emissions by at least 90% and preferably 95% by 2040 (compared to 1990 levels, including sinks). By 2035, the EU should reduce its net emissions by at least 76% and preferably 78% - more details in new paper: www.germanwatch.org/en/90194

September 2023 was not only the warmest September on record by a staggering 0.5°C margin, but at 1.82°C (3.28°F) above the 1850-1900 preindustrial average, it also set the record for the largest monthly temperature anomaly ever recorded.
